Savuli Lodge — a fictional hospitality concept built to the Kourel standard
A fictional concept build for a Zimbabwean lodge: room showcases, an enquiry flow that opens straight into WhatsApp and the speed and structure a hospitality site needs to be found and booked.
What this is
A fictional concept build. Savuli Lodge is not a real property and not a paying client — it’s a demonstration site we put together to show exactly what a hospitality engagement at Kourel produces, before anyone signs anything. Every name, rate, and review on the live demo is invented.
What it does
The site is pure Astro, pre-rendered at build time and served from Cloudflare’s global edge network. No WordPress, no page builder, no JavaScript framework on the visitor’s phone.
A full-viewport hero with the property’s atmosphere set in a single image. A pinned booking bar with check-in / check-out and a “Search rooms” button, wired to open WhatsApp with the enquiry pre-filled. Three suites with rates, room descriptions, and a Reserve CTA per card.
| Suite | Rate | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|
| Savanna Suite | $220/night | 2 |
| Zambezi Villa | $380/night | 2–3 |
| Family Lodge | $460/night | 4 |
A gallery grid sized for real photography. A book-direct band designed to move guests off OTA channels (Booking.com, Expedia) and reduce commission cost on every stay.
The structure behind it
The page carries LodgingBusiness JSON-LD with star rating, amenities and address, plus a BreadcrumbList and Organization. That’s how Google can surface a rich result and how ChatGPT or Perplexity can cite the lodge accurately when someone asks for a recommendation.
See it live
The full fictional demo is at /demos/hospitality/ all sections and the booking flow intact.
Yours will look different. The standard underneath it will be the same.
